My Hall Pass

I am so happy to participate in Reagan Tunstall's (from Tunstall's Teaching Tidbits)  Linky Party called "Hall Pass".  Each letter stands for something:

Here is my Hall Pass:

P stands for PRODUCT and one of my favorite products is my Alien Genetics packet:

I use this with my 4th graders to illustrate the basic principles of inheritance, my kids love this unit!

Everyone gets to make a DNA necklace using the genetic material they extract from strawberries!

A stands for AREA and my favorite area in my classroom is my Discovery Table aka the PLEASE TOUCH! table:

Discovery Table is where we put all of our cool science finds - it is ever-changing & always has fascinating stuff to observe. If I find something (& I am a big Nature Girl - always looking for cool things outside!) we put it on the table for all to see. My students love getting their scientific finds on the table! Here is some of our fun stuff:

S stands for SIGNAL & my stop-look-listen signal is: windchimes!

I have windchimes in every corner of my classroom! They sound so pretty, I love using them as a transition or attention signal.

S stands for SANITY  and that for me would be nature:
