Is it Safe to Get pregnant After 30?

The question as to whether or not it is safe to get pregnant after 30, seems to be asked by more and more couples these days. The reason this question is being asked more often is because with the way the world economy is in today's society, many couple delay having children until they become more financially stable.

If you are over thirty and are wondering if getting pregnant is safe at your age the answer is yes, it is safe. Many women do not get pregnant until much later in their lives, and the trend is becoming more common every day. This is mainly due to the fact that these days' it takes two incomes to live comfortably. So, women are staying in school longer then, they get their career established and then they begin to think about children.

The thing many couples do not think about, is that conceiving later in life is not as easy as they were led to believe back in high school sex education classes. Even though it is perfectly safe to get pregnant after thirty, it may not be so easy, as you may soon find out yourself.

Couples that are determined to have children but have not yet started trying to have them, need to keep one thing in mind, and that is, the older you get the less fertile you get. However there are a few things you can do before you begin trying that can help you conceive, easier and faster.

This first and most important, and this goes for both men and women, get as healthy as you can, in other words you need to get in top physical condition. This applies to your dietary habits, lifestyles, and overall physical condition.

You need to eat right, cut out fast foods and as much of the processed foods as possible. The more natural foods you eat from all four food groups the more nutrition, that the body needs, the body will get. This is even more important if you are over weight or under weight, as the reproductive system is adversely affected by body weight.

So, even though it is safe to get pregnant after 30, it may not be easy. In order to improve your chances, get your body in top physical condition before you start trying, and once you get pregnant, keep your body physically fit. It is just as important to be physically fit during a pregnancy as it is before, as this will make giving birth safer and easier on your body.

One last thing, since your fertility drops off as you age, it may take a little while before you are able to conceive. It can take six months or more, if after a year you still have not been successful then, consider seeing a fertility expert.
